Fire Protection

SDL’s team can deliver a complete package, or provide dedicated specialist support for Fire Protection projects.

Fire Stopping

There are a wide range of passive fire protection solutions that can be utilised to effectively seal penetrations, apertures and openings and so restrict a fire and its components – flames, smoke and toxic gas.

It is important to preserve the structural integrity of building compartments and pay particular attention to where communications, services and utilities go through fire-resisting walls and also cavity barriers, service openings, combustible pipes and cables and construction linear joints.

Without adequate fire protection, these are weak points in the building.

We use a wide range of manufacturers products as these can be specified for a particular project.

Fire Barriers

This is a method for closing large void above fire walls and through roof spaces. Again, this can be in multiple forms for different scenarios / specifications. We are trained in all manufacturer’s products such as Rockwool.

They are designed to specifically halt the passage of flames and smoke and to insulate the barrier from the rapid temperature rises experienced during a fire.

Fire Protective Boarding & Column Encasement

Passive fire protection solutions usually utilise fireboard installations. Fireboard encasement is a versatile, cost-effective, and efficient way of providing passive fire protection for a range of concrete, steel, and timber building structures.

A fireboard encasement system can provide an effective alternative passive fire protection solution for steel-framed structures where the intumescent coating is not appropriate or suitable.

The fire-rated board dry lining provides a robust and smooth surface. And doesn’t require any additional coatings to be applied.

It is non-combustible and greatly improves the acoustic performance of a building.

Timber Fire Doors

Fire doors are an essential component of any building’s fire compartmentation as they delay the spread of fire and smoke for up to 30 or 60 minutes.

Fitted correctly, in the event of a fire, they will provide vital protection to anyone inside a building by allowing them time to exit the premises to a safe area or to safely wait inside to be rescued.

All our fire door works are accompanied by full comprehensive surveys that follow strict inspection protocols set by the industry standards.

PFP Pro operatives are all trained in all aspects of a very changeable industry, we update our installers regularly on specification changes over numerous different manufacturers.
